Dancing Home tells the story of two cousins, Margie, a US-born Mexican-American, and Lupe, a newcomer from Mexico who has come to live with Margie’s family. Their lives are so different that they struggle to connect as friends. When together, they discover a love for Mexican folklórico, they share a path to the place they call home.


This Spanish-English bilingual play explores themes of immigration, bullying, Latinx heritage, language, identity, self-acceptance, and the power of art.

ANDI BOI by Bruce R. Coleman tells the story of a transgender teen entering his first day of high school. While navigating public school and new friendships, he also struggles with the response from community members about his existence. ANDI BOI is a story about acceptance, confidence, and video games. Created at Dallas Children’s Theatre in 2020, ANDI BOI has been banned in Texas due to state law. SFYT is proud to present the West Coast Premiere of this impactful play.
