SFYT in Schools & Community

SF Youth Theatre offers performances & Artist-In-Schools programs to schools, homeschools, libraries and other community organizations.

 

SFYT Artists in your school or community program!

Enrich your arts and academic programs with high quality theatre arts classes taught by experienced and talented teaching artists. SFYT offers in-school arts integration programs and afterschool classes for pre-school through high school.

Founded in 2014, SFYT is based in San Francisco’s Mission District and serves 1000 students annually in eleven SFUSD schools and Community Centers and at its onsite anchor location at Red Poppy Art House (2698 Folsom Street).  Seven of these schools are in SF Mission District:

In partnership with Mission Graduates, a pre-school to college aged academic enrichment program: (400 students total)

In partnership with SFUSD: (210 students total)

In partnership with San Francisco Boys and Girls Club (20 students total)

On average, these schools have a population consisting of 80% Latino, 5% Black, 66% ELL, and 77% Low Income.

SFYT also offers school performances of our timely and impactful musical production, The Afterlife a play about teen death and suicide written by Gary Soto.
