San Francisco Youth Theatre
Meet Our Teaching Assistants

Jessie Chen is a San Francisco native who developed her passions for theater and art during high school at the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts. She credits the theater for its unique ability to spur creativity, teamwork, and communication. Her passions branched off after high school when she started college at UC San Diego where she majored in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. While working towards her degree, she was still actively involved with theater. She was a stage manager and set designer for several productions at The English Theater of Rome. As a teaching assistant through the SFYT she helps coach monologue auditions and teach story theater. Her favorite part about working for SFYT is the opportunity to help students develop as growing artistic individuals.

Abraham Davis is a native San Franciscan and attends City College of San Francisco. He appeared in a number of productions with The Marsh Youth Theater and a couple with ACT. Abraham is excited to work as a assistant teacher with SFYT as a teacher for the next generation of young actors and actresses.

Andy Kwan is a graduate from San Jose State University with a bachelor’s degree in music performance. He is currently teaching and performing in the Bay Area with Opera San Jose and SF Youth Theater. When Andy is not performing he is collaborating with other artists and learning as much as he can about theater tech.
