The Family Art Program (engages the Red Poppy Art House’s surrounding neighborhood, contributing to its vibrancy by offering free programming to the public every Saturday from 1:00-3:30 pm.Family Art uses the exterior south wall of the Poppy and its wide adjacent sidewalk, where volunteers bring out an array of art supplies and organize a different activity for participants each week.

During these afternoon sessions, parents and children can explore their creative impulses togetehr. Family Art is designed as a way to engage not only participating families but those passing by our residential intersection. The program most often includes (but is not limited to) children and youth ages 4-17 and their families.

STORY THEATER with Sally Davis
RED POPPY ART HOUSE 

Sally Davis will delight young actors with costumes, fantasy, music and movement. Children will act out stories from around the world, creating magic through theatre. Through improvisation exercises older children will work towards building longer-length plays. 

SEPTEMBER 18–NOVEMBER 27 (no class November 20)
TUESDAYS: 3-5 year olds: 3-4 pm Still spaces in this class         
5-7 year olds: 4:15-5:15 This class is full!

TAKE THE STAGE
with Sally Davis 
RED POPPY ART HOUSE

Join theater director Sally Davis for a fun and surprising journey into the world of theater. In this workshop students will develop their acting and improvisation skills through theater games, scene work, story telling, creative movement, music making and character exploration.

Find your voice, build self-confidence, and discover the joys and challenges of performance and collaboration. This is great preparation for SFYT's full-scale elementary performance ensemble, Madcap Players beginning in January.  

SEPTEMBER 17–DECEMBER 4  (no class November 12)
MONDAYS: 4:15-5:30 pm Still spaces for boys only in this class 
$250 ten/week session. Sliding scale tuition available.
Students will perform in our Winter Showcase: Thursday December 6.
