BLACK LIVES MATTER
SFYT walks in solidarity with Black Lives Matter. We demand justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and the countless other Black lives taken by police and white supremacy. We mourn for the lives they did not complete. We mourn for their children and families.
We’re listening to the people in the streets who demand change. We’re listening to the voices of our students, families, and colleagues who remind us that racism, injustice, and violence against Black people are real and present everyday.
We know SFYT needs to do more in achieving its commitment to providing fully accessible high-quality, theatre arts experiences to youth, not just as a source of education and creativity, but of healing and repair. We are committed to holding ourselves accountable for being an agent of equity and justice.
We are committed to empowering youth voices to tell their stories and demand change.
All SFYT programs are accessible to any student--regardless of their ability to pay. If you know of a student who could benefit from an SFYT summer experience–anywhere in the world– please connect us with them or send them to our summer page.
